what's happening

John was affirmed as Highland Hills’ eighth pastor on July 11 in a unanimous congregation vote during a special called business meeting held immediately after the worship service in which John gave his trial sermon.  We are excited to welcome John and his family as they come to serve with us here at Highland Hills beginning on August 1, 2021.
John was born and raised here in Fort Thomas, KY, and graduated from Highlands High School.  He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry in 2016 from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville, KY, with academic honors.  John then went on to pursue his Master of Arts in Christian Studies at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY, and completed that program in 2018.
John is married to Angela who was born in Covington, KY, and grew up in Campbell County and graduated from Campbell County High School.  They have two grown sons, Jacob (23) and Joshua (22).
Among some of John’s interests are music, reading, and soccer.  He is employed by the US Postal Service as a Letter Carrier and has served in that capacity since 1992 in addition to being a bi-vocational pastor in two different churches since 2014.  He has served in his current church for the past five years as Senior Pastor.  Prior to  being a pastor of a church John did supply preaching and pulpit fill in various churches in Northern Kentucky from April, 2013 through September, 2014.
John was licensed into the Gospel Ministry on April 24, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Cold Spring, KY, and was ordained as a Pastor on August 24, 2014, at East Dayton Baptist Church, Dayton, KY.

Now that the CDC has lifted the mask requirements for those persons who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, we have updated our policy to follow those recommendations and those of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  Therefore, we are now following a "mask optional" policy.  We will still provide masks to those who may need one on occasion and we will continue to follow the CDC guidelines for safety at home and at work by providing hand sanitizer products.  We also continue to fog our areas with anti-viral and sanitizing fog after rooms have been accessed to keep them as sanitary as possible.

Please be aware that you can also watch our worship service on Facebook Live on Sunday morning at 10:30 AM as an alternative.  If you do not have access to Facebook we also provide links to our Sunday worship in two other formats here on the website:  On the MEDIA page you can listen to just the message portion of the service beginning later in the day on Monday following the Sunday service.  We also have available on the VIDEO LIBRARY page a full video recording of the entire Sunday worship service.  This too is usually available later on Monday after the Sunday service.

Our children's programs are also open for students in grades K-5 in our Alley and for Babies-PreK in our Wonderland.  Both of these programs open for registration at 10:15 AM on Sunday mornings and continue through approximately 11:45 AM.  Please see our Life @ Highland Hills section for more details on each of these programs.

Programming for our older students in grades 6-12 is called FUSION.  This program usually meets on Wednesday evenings during the school year.  Please contact Lisa Turner for information of current activities by email at turnerlisa3198@gmail.com.

Connect Card

We feel that staying in contact with each other is very important as a church family in order to "Be the Church" as we serve Christ in our body and in the community.  We have developed a CONNECT CARD that is virtual online that anyone can use to contact the leadership in the church office.  By clicking on the CONNECT CARD link you can communicate directly any need that you may have with the church office and someone from leadership or Church Family Support will be able to respond to you.
