Just for Parents

Parents will have a breakout session, just like the kids! Over the course of four evenings, parents will learn more about 10 ways to be an exceptional parent in a quick fix world through Doug and Cindy Fields' Intentional Parenting series.

Every parent has dreams for their children. As parents, we all start out with the best intentions. Although, at some point, we move from dreams to duct tape and hope that each day everything will just stick together. Raising kids in today's culture is a difficult challenge and it requires a plan. Without a plan, parents usually default to Quick-Fix Parenting. Let's face it -- it's just easier to focus on immediate problems rather than deal with the deeper and more important ones. Surviving each day is much easier than taking the time and energy to consider how parenting actions impact a child's future.

FAQ

What is Family VBS?

Vacation Bible School at Highland Hills has always been about teaching kids about Jesus while helping them have fun. This year, we're extending that to the whole family - birth through adults!

What can I expect?

You and your family will experience the fun and learning of VBS together. Each evening will start with the family together, followed by breakout sessions *, and will conclude with family fun.

     * Breakout Sessions: Everyone will be divided by age. For example: Elementary-age children will have a session, there will be a session for teens, and parents will share a session.

What if I can't make it? Can my child(ren) still attend?

Yes! Having the family participate together is ideal; however, we understand that can't always happen. Children who will be in kindergarten through grade 12 this Fall may attend without a parent. Preschoolers must have a parent at VBS.
