Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the good News of Jesus Christ. They ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.

How Can You Be Involved?

Highland Hills has enough boxes for 100 children! You can pick up from the display at church as many as your family would like to fill. Boxes will be available every Sunday until they are gone. All filled boxes are due back to church before or on November 10.

Some Things To Know

  • Each shoebox provides more than just a gift. In addition to hearing the Gospel before they receive their present, each child receives "The Greatest Gift", a storybook that shares the message of salvation.
  • Operation Christmas Child says that for every 100 boxes filled, 16 children accept Christ!
  • The estimated cost to fill a box is $15-$20. Plus a $9 donation for shipping.
  • Gift suggestions are included with each shoebox. You can also include a letter and picture.
